New Lore: The Elfen Tongue

Music is not separate from language in Elfen culture.
It is the foundation from which language was born, and the last form it returns to when words are no longer enough.

This ties in with my own life, with my own people, often singing along mid-conversation or reverting to songs in moments of anxiety/awkward silences.

The glyphs and writing of the Elfen language are inspired by a couple of things: the alien writing/language in the film Arrival, directed by our own Denis Villeneuve (Dune 1/2/3), and Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics.

The songs in Elf culture are inspired by Canadian indigenous/Celtic/Nordic pronunciation and sentence cadence.
